The
Hazboun Family Union was founded in March 1995 upon request by active
members of the family, to keep its heritage in the Holy Land, Palestine
The roots
of the family in Bethlehem go back many centuries. According to
records of the Parish Church of St. Catherine (Franciscan Fathers),
the family tree dates back to 1610, translated from Latin to Arabic.
Oral Family tradition goes back to an earlier period in the 7th
century AD, to the Byzantine era. According to one family tradition,
our ancestors originally immigrated from Hasban Tel, now in Jordan
to Bethlehem and then acquired the name Hazboun. It is one of the
larger clans (tribes) in Bethlehem with more than 100 families,
as shown by records in our telephone directory. More Hazbouns are
in the Diaspora, mainly in Central and South America. They emigrated
during the Ottoman Empire for political and economic reasons, followed
by more emigration during the British Mandate in Palestine and the
Israeli occupation, mainly to the USA.
On the
Internet you will find pages and addressess of our family abroad,
